What is a Bloom Booster?

Nutrient #1: Phosphorus

When there’s a decrease of phosphorus in the plant, there will be a decrease in cytokinin activity. These cytokinins are plant growth substances that promote cell division in plant shoots and roots. Hence, when there is a decrease in phosphorus and cytokinin activity, there will be a decrease in flower production.

Too much phosphorus 

It results in yellowing and stunting leaves. As a result, it will be underdeveloped during its supposed harvest time.

Too little phosphorus

It results in dead plants caused by pathogens. Pathogens are organisms that cause diseases on plants.

Nutrient #2: Potassium

Potassium increases the overall quality of plants and activates growth-related enzymes on it as well. During photosynthesis, it regulates the opening and closing of stomata and consequently, the CO2 intake of the plant, a compound that is is crucial for the plant’s growth and development.

Too much potassium

It causes the leaves to turn inward and become weak. Additionally, the crop can grow prone to pathogens and pests, which can cause the plant to die.

Too little potassium

It causes nutrient lockout. This lockout prevents the plant from absorbing necessary micronutrients such as zinc and magnesium.
